What Did Jesus Say?
Once again, I have fallen down on trying to keep up with regular posting. And once again I have failed to be as faithful about reading as I should be.
However, I was in Nalerigu, Ghana recently for a couple of weeks and while there I was reading Matthew to see again what Jesus said and did to try and understand what I should be doing as a Christian ("little Christ").
I will try to post later about specific passages that I read, but wanted to comment today and try to get back into posting.
I am reminded as I read Matthew that Jesus spent a lot of time healing people. And once again, it seems that we as Christians today are not very good at healing. As a doctor, that is what I try to do as a profession, but I need to do better as a healer of hearts, spirits and minds with God's help. And as a church we need to be better at offering a healing environment. Much of Jesus' healing involved mental conditions and we should be willing and ready to offer solace, comfort and healing to those we meet with depression, anxiety, fear or other demons.
